Welcome to
Adolescent Medicine!

Two components of the rotation:

1. Clinical experiences: You will work with different providers to care for patients across our different programs. This will give you exposure to the varied elements of adolescent medicine.  Morning clinics are usually 8:30a-12:30p and afternoon clinics are usually 1-5p.  Please review the schedule of the provider you are assigned to work with the day before!

2. Independent study time: There are recommended materials on this site to supplement your clinical experiences.

Morning report and noon conference are MANDATORY for residents (optional for students).  Please excuse yourself from clinic as needed to attend these.  **For virtual conferences, please attend from clinic to maximize your time with patients.**

Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging

We strive to practice with humility and curiosity. We recognize that each of us here have opportunities both to teach and to learn from each other, and want to create a clinical learning environment that is inclusive and committed to equity.

Please ask us questions, challenge us, disagree with us, and let us know when you observe a (micro)aggression or something that doesn't seem right. We appreciate that this can be difficult at times, so have created a separate space to report your concerns where you can choose whether or not to remain anonymous (see evaluations tab).

As we provide clinical care for adolescents and in our discussions about adolescent health, we address challenging topics such as suicidality, abuse, eating disorders, abortion, and more. If any topics evoke strong feelings for you, please talk with Emily or any of the other team members about how we can best support you throughout your rotation.
